Meet your team
Hi, We’re your home birth midwife duo!
After years of working along side one another in various phases of our midwifery journeys, we decided to continue to walk this path together not just as midwives but partners. Our relationship has grown into something pretty special — intuitive, grounded, and deeply connected. That’s the kind of trust and flow we believe every birth team should have.
You can expect care that’s supportive, safe, and intentionally crafted just for you. We blend our unique backgrounds, experience, and shared philosophies to guide families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with love and confidence.
If we sound like the team for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Meet Angie
Angelica Miller affectionately called Angie or Ang by her friends and family is a licensed midwife. In 2016 she began her formal training as a midwife at Nizhoni Institute Of Midwifery. This includes training in newborn care, breastfeeding, herbs, homeopathy, and other holistic modalities. She has attended many births and has experience at home, birth centers and hospitals. In 2020 She became a Licensed Midwife by the Medical Board of California. Prior to her midwifery journey she obtained her Bachelors in Public health science from UC Irvine, became a Dona trained doula as well as a Lactation Educator through UC San Diego. She has had the honor of supporting families through their birth journeys in a multitude of ways since 2013.
Angie has been enamored with helping and caring for others since she was a child, that deeply rooted passion for nurturing only expanded as she got older. She was called to midwifery because she trusts that at your core, you are capable of birthing in the way you desire. She trusts not only the bodies innate ability but also a persons capability to be an active participant in their care. She believes that every person deserves individualized care and informed consent. Along her journey she continues to ground herself, grow and expand her knowledge on birth practices and disparities within her greater community. Angie is honored to be a part of your birth journey; to see people become parents, children to become siblings, and families grow in love.
If you aren’t catching Angie talking about birth and wellness you can find her chasing her sweet toddler, walking with the family pup, traveling, reading, being active, spending time with her fam and taking an active role in her community.
Meet Maddy
Madison Marshall, known to most as Maddy, began her journey into midwifery at the age of 17, inspired by her mother, a devoted doula who has served women in their community for many years. Growing up surrounded by birth work and witnessing its sacredness firsthand, Maddy felt her calling confirmed when she had the opportunity to catch her youngest sister during her mother's first home birth. From that moment on, she knew she was meant to become a midwife.
Maddy spent five years in formal study, earning a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Midwifery and training under seven diverse and experienced midwives. Each mentor contributed unique insights and wisdom, helping shape Maddy into the compassionate, grounded, and skilled midwife she is today. She is both a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and a Licensed Midwife (LM), dedicated to providing holistic, evidence-based, and deeply personalized care to the families she serves.
When she’s not attending births, Maddy lives an active, nature-centered lifestyle. She enjoys hiking, swimming, yoga, running, and lifting weights—movement is a vital part of her rhythm. Passionate about primal living, she embraces practices that reflect the way God designed humans to thrive. As a Christian, her faith in Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit are central to her calling and work as a midwife.
Maddy is also deeply passionate about supporting women through nutrition and movement during pregnancy and postpartum. She loves empowering mothers to feel strong, nourished, and confident in their bodies throughout every stage of their journey.
The Rowan Midwifery Way:
We strive to provide quality client-centered midwifery care to a diverse group of women, and to decrease the racial disparities in birth outcomes. We work within an evidence based model of care, staying up to date on research so that we can provide you with the best support and care possible. We believe that quality care is embodied when every person is provided with a safe place to grow their inner strength and voice. We will empower our families via education to make informed choices about their care. Our belief is that with excellent continuity of care clients can embrace their inner power and feel confident in their innate ability to birth their baby. We look forward to growing a healthy community, one family at a time.
